Sekulović: There is no Sinjajevina without herders just as there is no planet without bees

Look at the hands of our mothers, on their hands of Sinjajevina, you will see its hills and valleys, he said.

We are not just people from the mountain, we are the mountain, we have merged with it. And just as the world would not be able to do without bees, worker bees and queens, neither could the mountain without its mountaineers and shepherds, said the president of the Civic Initiative "Save Sinjajevina" Milan Sekulović.

Yestrday at the Day of Sinjavina in Podgorica, he said that he must especially thank our mountain women from Sinjajevina who, in order to be there with all of us, left their huts and cattle on Sinjajevina.

They traveled kilometers and kilometers, on rutted Sinjajevina roads. And it was not difficult for them, not even to prepare the food that we will serve tonight. In addition to mountain women, there are also our mountaineers. They, too, have put aside their work in order to be there and to present their mountain in the capital, he added. He pointed out that they are not just mountain people. We are the mountain, we have merged with it, we are related. And just as the world would not be able to do without bees, worker bees and queens, so the mountain would not be able to do without its mountaineers and mountaineers, and shepherds. When we say that Sinjajeva is our mother and that she raised us, it may sound strange to some, but it is the

truth. Look at the hands of our mothers, on their hands Sinjaevina, you will see its hills and valleys. From those hands comes all this food, healthy, natural and clean. Homemade. Today it is called "organic" – said Sekulović.

According to him, modern civilization is struggling to catch up and produce healthy food, which has largely lost in the meantime. We were lucky that we never lost that treasure and it is our task and our immense responsibility to preserve it. Every grass and flower on Sinjajevina bears witness to the beauty and richness of biodiversity, although we simply call it nature. But an inseparable part of that nature and biodiversity is also human cattle herders who have guarded and preserved Sinjajevina for centuries to be one of the rare untouched mountains in Montenegro, for sure, but also in Europe and the world. That is why we, as an organization, advocate for the protection of that flower from Sinjajevina, as well as the man on that flower. Thank you to the EU delegation, the IRIS

project and everyone who recognizes and understands the importance of Sinjajevina, a livestock and tourist mountain - concluded Sekulović.
